"Invisible waves" is the name of a 2006
movie by thai director Pen-ek Ratanaruang,
shot in Hong-Kong, Macau and Thailand, and
featuring... a DS, in the paradisiac set of
Phuket island.  The film won applause at the
2006 Bangkok Film Festival.

The DS is never really shown in full nor from the front, but it does appear in several key
scenes, most notably when Kyoji, the hero, is held at gun-point during a long night drive,
allowing us to see the interior of the car, in relatively poor condition it seems.
A nice Asian line-up of actors: Tadanobu
Asano (Japan), who plays the main
character Kyoji, Gang Hye-Jung (Korea),
Ken Mitsuishi (Japan), Maria Cordero
(Hong-Kong).
The car is undoubtedly the same, as shown by the plate number. The front bumper shape
proves a production anterior to september 1962, and some other details indicate a 1959
model, making it... the oldest known DS in Asia ! Found so far, at least. And most probably
still there, in the Phuket area.
Now, where exactly does this DS come from ? Two pictures of this very same car, posted in
2004 on the online photo album of a Scandinavian tourist called Eirik, help us learn a little
more about it.
