Another fine example of a Super5, owned by
Kees, a Dutch classic car amateur stationed
in Bangkok. This car participated in a local
rallye in 2006.

Kees, a physician working for UNICEF and
stationed in Thailand after assignments in
Cambodia, Bhutan and the Maldives, is a
true car enthusiast; he also drives a VW
Beetle and a Jaguar  E-Type for instance.
He found this DS via the Classic Car Club of
Thailand website, and little is known about
the car's history. According to the serial
number it is a 1973 DSuper5, the successor
of the ID but with a DS21 engine and a
5-speed gearbox.
In 2006 Kees' DS was the first classic car to
participate in the "Puzzelrit", a rally
organized every year since 1958 by the
Nederlandse Vereniging in Thailand (The
Dutch Society in Thailand) in the outskirts of
Bangkok.
The "Puzzelrit" report, and pictures of Kees'
other cars, are on his personal site. The DS
also appears in the March 2007 edition of
"Grand Prix", a Thai car magazine !

Update ! (June 2011) Kees and his wife
Minke joined the 2nd  "Tiger Classic Car
Rally" for a 1-month, 6,000 km tour of
Thailand,  Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos with
the DS. In spite of more than a few
mechanical problems, they made the full trip,
and could bring back many nice memories
and pictures:
Above left: one of several forced stops for Kees; right: an Ami 6, belonging to and driven by Ami Club of Holland
founder Patrick van Griethuysen, was also part of the adventure.
Below: a selection of Kees' great pictures from the trip.
