Thailand
Peter had a DS23 in Germany and missed it so much that he found another one in
Thailand, where he lives now. When I last saw it in July, 2006, the engine was under repair
in the hands of Martin, the almighty mechanic from Switzerland.
The car is a 1974 carburetter DS23 Pallas, but the engine is not the original one. The three
vertical vents on each side are supposed to help evacuate the heat from the engine room,
and have been copied on Pascal's car.
Above left: interesting bamboo-based handicraft to hold into place the roof lining.
Below: the car back in 2003, when the engine was being replaced.

Below: the car was spotted again by Didier B. last September 2007, parked in the street in
the Jomtien area near Pattaya.
Update ! Early 2008, Peter tells me the restoration work is over, and he sends the pictures
below. Now look at the colour of the sea ! It just can't be Pattaya. No, I'm being unfair, so if
you do go to Pattaya, try and stay at Peter's guesthouse, and you'll be able to see his DS.
So you'll have both the fun and the fun :
